Talent + Workforce: What’s Old is New Again

Join us on Tuesday, May 18 at noon for this lunchtime opportunity for roundtable style informal networking with economic development colleagues.

Talent attraction, talent retention, workforce development – these are critical components of Economic Development. The days when we thought that Economic Development and Workforce Development were two separate things are long gone. Access to talent is top of mind for all industry sectors and for communities trying to grow their economic base. Engaging all potential talent includes outreach to disconnected youth, underemployed, and upskilling incumbent workers. We’ve brought together two industry experts who will lead a conversation about all things talent and workforce – 2021.

Latoya Wilson of WCR Consultancy is a Career Readiness and Economic Development Consultant. She is committed to expanding STEAM-based career pathway initiatives and promoting inclusivity in economic growth and development. Her current passion focuses on increasing representation of innovative talent as a strategy to promote economic development in local communities.

Dan Fogarty is one of the most well-respected workforce development leaders in PA. As the Chief Operating Officer of the Berks County Workforce Development Board, Dan oversees the talent and workforce strategies for a community with a diverse industry mix. He has championed regional collaboration to address workforce challenges – especially those that relate to the dynamic and evolving Advanced Manufacturing sector.
